Verify Custom Attestation

Five-step verification

1. ML-DSA Signature Check

Verify the ML-DSA (FIPS 204) lattice-based signature against the epoch public key and original payload.

2. SLH-DSA Signature Check

Independently verify the SLH-DSA (FIPS 205) hash-based signature. Both algorithms must pass.

3. Merkle Proof Validation

Confirm the epoch public key is authentically committed in the Merkle tree using the provided authentication path.

4. Epoch Authentication

Verify that the signing epoch is within the valid range and matches the expected key rotation schedule.

5. Timestamp Policy

Confirm the attestation timestamp falls within the acceptable policy window for the transaction.
